Colleen is a visionary in the bookkeeping industry with over 25 years experience.  She is leading the charge on new and innovative solutions for businesses who understand the critical importance of strong financial management.

In 2012, Colleen purchased Security House Accounting, which offers a full range of bookkeeping and tax services for individuals and small to medium sized businesses.  At that time, she recognized that the business community was in dire need of professional level bookkeeping advice and services and could no longer survive with simple ledgers and bank reconciliations.  Colleen aims to disrupt the bookkeeping industry.  Colleen is a member of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC), is on their Board of Directors, and is currently the Accreditation and Compliance Committee Chair.  She received the national IPBC Fellowship Award in 2016 to recognize her passion for bookkeeping and her commitment to move bookkeeping from the backrooms to the forefront of the professional business advisory community.

Under Colleen’s leadership, Security House Accounting has grown from one employee (her) in 2012 to a team of 15 employees, 4 of which are CPB’s, and three locations – Victoria, Sidney and Winnipeg.  Colleen’s Team of professional and technology savvy Number Crunchers provides an environment where business owners receive professional services in a personal, calm, friendly and non-judgmental way.  Their success is her success and a testament to her slogan “Give us your books – Take back your life!”.
